Southeast Nebraska Consolidated Policy

-Free Appropriate Public Education-
SENC Schools ensures that free appropriate public education is available to all children with disabilities. This service will be provided from birth through the school year in which the student reaches 21 years of age, including children who have been suspended or expelled from school.

-Childfind-
All children with disabilities residing in the SENC district, including children with disabilities attending nonpublic schools, regardless of the severity of their disabilities, and who are in need of special education and related services, are identified, located, and evaluated and a practical method is developed and implemented to determine which children with disabilities are currently receiving needed special education and related services. For infants and toddlers, districts shall demonstrate targeted efforts to meet the needs of children from historically underserved populations, particularily minority, low income, inner-city and rural populations.
